Romantic relationships, love, sex and intimacy are universal themes. We see them in films, theater all the time. In improv, however, it seems to be different. We rarely see truly romantic love scenes or uncomfortable, awkward, and honest conversations about sex, love, death. The idea of entering such personal territory scares us. However, opening up about these topics can make our scene much more interesting and richer. We will create different atmospheres, we will include the viewer in our intimacy without being explicit, we will make the viewer feel like he or she has slipped into an intimate moment of our lives. In this workshop we will explore the fears around intimacy on stage, build trust and break down barriers. Performing love scenes is a skill like any other and can be learned. You just need confidence, courage, honesty and the willingness to take risks you have never taken before.
